THE CONSUMER COMPLAINTS SERVICE IS

OF THE MOST VISIBLE AND SERVICES OF THE CONSUMER COUNCIL. IT AIMS AT RESOLVING COMPLAINTS

SIR DAVID MONITORING FOR UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, THE GOVERNOR, WILSON WAS TOLD TODAY (MONDAY).

DURING A VISIT TO THE CONSUMER COUNCIL THIS AFTERNOON, SIR DAVID WAS BRIEFED ON THE COUNCIL'S WORK AND FUNCTIONS BY ITS CHAIRMAN, MR MARTIN LEE.

THE GOVERNOR WAS TOLD THAT THE COUNCIL RECEIVED ABOUT 9,000 COMPLAINTS A YEAR.

IN THE PAST 16 YEARS, THE COUNCIL HAD PUBLICISED THE MORE THAN 50 SHOPS FOUND TO HAVE BEEN USING SHARP BUSINESS A MEASURE WHICH HAD PROVED EFFECTIVE IN DISCOURAGING THEM.
