Mr. PUN Kan

Mr. Pun was first appointed as a labourer in the Marine Police in 1933, and retired in 1968. Immediately following his vacation leave he re-joined and has worked in a similar capacity at Kowloon City Division ever since. He has been granted an extension of service until 1981. Throughout his 47 years of service, Mr. Pun has earned numerous commendations from his

Commanding Officers for dedication and loyalty. Even at his present age, he enjoys his daily work and is an inspiration and example to his younger colleagues.

Miss Irene THUMB

Miss Thumb joined Government service in 1947 as a Woman Confidential Assistant Class II. She was promoted to Class I and, in 1970, to her present rank of Senior Personal Secretary. Throughout her service in the Department of Trade, Industry and Customs she has shown outstanding devotion to her duties, which have often involved the provision of secretarial support to missions engaged in trade negotiations overseas,

working very long and sometimes irregular hours.

Mrs. Betty TSOI TANG

Mrs. Tsoi joined the Treasury as a Temporary Clerk in 1951 and progressed through the ranks to Clerical Officer I

in 1969. She has served almost exclusively in the Treasury from 1954 to 1979 dealing with the procurement, distribution, storage and security of stores. She has always been enthusiastic

in her approach, setting an excellent example for her juniors

to follow. She has since been posted to the Finance Section

of the General Branch and is currently the most senior female clerical officer in the Treasury.
