Finally I should emphasise that in the Committee's efforts
to educate the public as to the abilities and needs of the disabled no
influence could be as effective as the disabled themselves, simply by
demonstrating what they can do in school, in work, or in sport.
I wish the Central Coordinating Committee every success in
this year's endeavour, and have much pleasure in declaring open Hong
Kong's celebration of the International Year of the Disabled Persons.
