DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD PRESENTATION CEREMONY
The Social Welfare Department, operating authority of the Duke
of Edinburgh's Award, will hold a presentation ceremony on Wednesday
(October 31) at 0 Pui Shan Boys' Home at 2.30 p.m.
Mr. Thomas C.Y. Lee, Deputy Director of Social Welfare, will
officiate at the ceremony.
A total of 74 members from four correctional institutions of
the department's Probation and Corrections Division will receive awards.
They comprise 34 members from Castle Peak Boys' Home, 21 from
O Pui Shan Boys' Home, 13 from Ma Tau Wei Girls' Home and seven from Begonia
Road Boys' Home.
All have undergone at least six months practical training on
service, expeditions, interest design for living, and physical activities.
Guests invited include magistrates, civic and kaifong leaders,
university authorities, probation officers and other senior departmental
staff.
A first aid demonstration by award members will be held after
the presentation ceremony.
