The prisoners at Stanley Prison vere surveyed originally in the hono of preventing spread of infection in this institution which has been and till is overcrowded. The intention mus on completion of the first Jurvey, to examine all subsequent prisoners on first admissiɔn.
This latter arrangement finally proved im actioable and the schane had to be temprarily abandoned. The result of the first survey makes interesting reading and reflects considerable credit on conditions there, indicating that, at least from a health point ofview, a prison sentence ino hardship. The results of this survey are as follows;-
