With reference to previous correspondence about the re-registration in Hong Kong of companies registered in England under Regulation 5 of the Defence (Companies) Regulations, 1940. We have recently received an application from Messrs. Boote, Edgar & Co., Solicitors, of 53, Spring Gardens, Manchester 2, on behalf of The China Printing & Finishing Co. Ltd. (a company incorporated in Shanghai under Hong Kong Ordinances) for an Order under Regulation 5 of the abovementioned Regulations directing cessation of this company's registration here.
Messrs. Boote Edgar & Co. state in their letter "The company now desires to be registered in Hong Kong under Article 4B which we understand has now been added to Proclamation 27 (Emergency Registration of China Companies) by the Hong Kong authorities.

Cur recollection is that this matter is still under consideration and we should be glad if you would confirm. If, however, Article 4B has been added to Proclamation 27 would you kindly obtain for us three copies thereof and ascertain the date it came into force.
As we are being pressed for a quick reply on this matter, would you please let us know the position as soon as possible.
