Much regret absence of reply owing to pressure of work. Have received from a China Company application for order under United Kingdom Defence (Companies) Regulation No. 5A for cessation of registration in United Kingdom and registration in Hong Kong under Article 4B of Military Proclamation No. 27.

Should be glad to know whether Ordinance has in fact been enacted adding Articles 44 and 4B to Proclamation No. 27 as foreshadowed in paragraph 16 of your despatch under reference. If so, please state date it came into force and whether copies are being despatched by fast air mail.

Has an Ordinance also been enacted enabling Hong Kong Companies which transferred registration from Hong Kong during war, to be transferred back again to Hong Kong as foreshadowed in paragraph 1 of depatch under reference,
