The "Kung Sheung Daily News" and the "Sing Tao Jih Pao" were both of the opinion that China's National Government would be stronger and better.
General Marshall's statement on China was badly received by all papers and they all joined in advocating peace between the Nationalists and the Communists, with some bitterness towards the United States. The "Hwa Shiang Pao commenting on the same subject said, "China is not to be turned. into a colony or protectorate of U.S.A." The National Times", "Kung Sheung Daily News" and "Kwor Yin Daily News were unusually definite in their plea for compromise for the national good.
3. Comments on Colonial Matters.
The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" anticipated a successful outcome of the Burma
conferences.
4. Comments on International Matters.
The "Kwor Yin Daily News" was concerned with the prevention of rise of Japan as a military power.
The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" believed that an American-Russian agreement would bring peace to the Far East.
