In November 1920, the late Sir Maurice Fitzmaurice of the fim of Consulting Engineers, Messrs. Coode, Matthews, Fitzmaurice and Wilson, visited Hong Kong to report on Harbour development. It is believed that in the course of that visit Sir Maurice wrote a

latter to the Director of Public Works dated 25th November, 1920, in which it is thought reference was made to the construction of a number of reclamations.

2.

This letter cannot now be found locally and as it is thought a copy of it may well be among Colonial Office records, I should be grateful if you would supply a further copy or, alternatively, if you are unable to trace the letter, if you would approach Messrs. Coode, Wilson, Vaughan-Lee and Gwyther of Alliance House, Caxton Street, London, S.W.l., with a view to their supplying a copy as it is believed that this firm are the successors of Messrs. Coode, liatthews, Fitzmaurice and Wilson.
