You suggested that the best bourse, as you now have no regular service to Calcutta, would be to fly the majority of them to singapore and to ask Add to arrange, in consultation with the Governor of Hong Kong, for their onward transport as soon as possible. I would suggest that as many as possible of the 65 who are ready to go by air should be accommodated on the Dragon service during the next fortnight and that the resinder who cannot be sent direct to Hong Kong in this way should be flown to Singapore and that you should ask ACSEA to arrange their onward tranmort.
If you agree that thead Police officers are of sufficiently high priority to justify these speci:l measures I will ask the Department concerned here to get into direat touch with your people to arrange the dates and details of their departure.
