Cost of stores ordered by the Military Authorities which were delivered after the release of establishment of Civil Government. This matter has already been referred to in connection with the terms of the financial settlement between His Majesty's Government and the Government of Hong Kong (see paragraph 4 of my telegram No.456 of the 16th April, 1948). The matter is still under considera- tion and a further communication promised on the subject will be sent as soon as a final decision is reached.

3. Expenditure incurred by the Ministry of Supply in connection with the cancellation of certain "second six months" supplies ordered for the Civil Government This matter was referred to in my savingram No.1245 of the 13th December and as far as I am aware there are no other claims to be raised under this head.

4. (i) Claims by the Ministry of Transport for refund of the cost of repatriation of civilians who were interned during the war and for whom the Far Eastern Colonial Governments have a responsibility. and (ii) claims by the War Office for the recovery of cash advances made to civilians on their release from internment These claims arise out of arrangements made for the immediate evacuation from the Far Eastern Colonial territories after liberation of civilian internees etc., found therein.
