I am being strongly pressed by Unofficial Members of the Executive Council for a statement in amplification of war expenditure settlement and in particular to make public the understanding confirmed in my telegram No. 406 regarding claims referred to therein, Until this is made publie Unofficials do not feel at liberty to welcome His Majesty's Government's generosity in the terms it merite.
As the Legislative Council at which Unofficial Members intend to speak meets Wednesday 28th April, I would appreciate earliest possible reply.
