The question of remission or reduction of sentence has been considered here five (5) timas, IЯ addition to two reviews durieg Military Administration; was one of a number of cases rovised by the Acting Chied Justice shortly after resumption of civil governmens vitla with a view to bringing sentences into line with those being imported (?imponed intended) by Supreus Courte The keting Chief Justico confirmed sentences which ware, if anything, rather lighter than sentences for similar offences passed after restoration of civil government. On 29th January, 1947 a petition for clemency was addressed to Sir Hark Youngs who rejected it.

For more possession of aras and awaitaon; a sentence of three yaare japainoangat venl4 ma be considered adequatë. But in the case wilor consideration, Chong Tong Nie nood pistol to cciemát robbory and further, be involved a companion two years his junior I therefore cannot advis that soutences of 34 years and 5 years cmcurrently sen axcessive end in my opinion the difference in sentencsa between the two acersed siegneiely reflects their rospective responsibilitien,
