Other Chargos
The
Provision has been mado departmentally for Advertising, Books and Publications, Cleaning of Officos, Newspapers and Periodicals, Office Equipment and Furniture. An increase under sub-head 6, Fuel, Light and Power of $1,500 has proved necessary. A large apparent increase of $15,800 under Maintenance of Plant and Equipment has been provided for but this includes the former sub-head Maintenance of Stores ($10,000) which has been deleted. There are also reductions under the Maintenance of Equipment sub-head under Furniture and Sand Monopoly totalling 4,500.

A reduction of one million dollars has been made in the sub-head "Furntiure" but the sub-head "Collection and Storage of Sand" shows an increase of $375,000. A considerable demand for sand for building purposes is anticipated during the coming year and all expenditure will be balanced by revenue. The not decrease on Other Charges is $712,880.
