Personal Emoluments

The staff is reduced by one tomporary

Programme Director, onc Assistant Programme Director, one Accountant, one steno-typist and increased by one Music Secretary and one Assistant Sccro tary and Stenographer.

The not decrease is $14,395.

Other Charges

A slight increase of $1,678 is the result

of an increased provision of $1,182 for Rent, $2,351 for Royalties, $3,200 for Records and $1,145 for Uniforms. Savings are cffected under Printing and Translators' Feos.

Head 24. Press Relations Office

Personal Emoluments

The establishment has been reduced by one Stenographer. Provision is made for a permanent Press Relations Officer although the post is vacant at present. Five temporary clorks replace staff previously listed as translators, clerks and window dressers. The messenger boy is brought on to the standard soale of a messenger. The net result of those changes is to effect a saving of $6,590.

Other Charges

A small increase of $2,744 is more than accounted for by the provision of $5,000 for the Upkeep of Motor Vehicles. This figure includes provision previously made for the Mobile Public Address Unit.

Personal Emoluments

There is an increase of one temporary Superintendent who is the present Acting Commissioner and who is on contract. During the current year he was paid from the provision for the Superintendent but a new appointment. has now been made to the latter post. There is also an increase of one temporary clerk,

two motor drivers and one office attendant whose appointments were found necessary during the present year.
