I have now received the report of the Hong Kong University Advisory Committee on which you were good enough to serve and I should like to let you know how much I apreciate the care and thought the t has gone into this valuable document. The Committee has made a notable contribution to the problem of the future of the University and I hope that you will accept this letter as an expression of my sincere thanks for the very considerable time that you have given to this important matter.
The report has now been printed and a copy of it is being sent to you. As you will appreciate, its contents make it necessary to treat the report as confidential for the time being.
