4.(1).Every owner of any leasehold premises which have sustained damage alleged to be attributable to military operations or to the enemy occupation shall,in addition to the statement required by the preceding section and at the time of lodging such statement,lodge with the said officer a statement of such damage.

Such statement shall be in the form 1,1, in the Schedule to this Proclamation and shall give the particulars required therein.

(2).The owner shall at the time of lodging such statement produce all documents upon which he relies to substantiate the same and shall permit copies thereof to be made or extracts to be taken therefrom and shall, if required,deliver the some into the custody of such officer on being given a receipt therefor.

5.The owner of any leasehold premises shall on demand by notice in writing by such officer as aforesaid produce to him, or to such person as he may designate for the purpose, all deeds or other instruments in writing relating to the said premises and shall permit copies to be made thereof or extracts to be taken therefrom and shell, if required,deliver the same into the custody of such officer on being given a receipt therefor.

6. No contract, transaction or dealing whatsoever, other than a lease or tenancy for a term not exceeding one year, shall, without the consent in writing of the Legal Adviser, be

entered into or made in connection with any leasehold premises until one month after the lodgment in respect of such premises of full and sufficient particulars in the form required by this Proclamation.

Every contract, transaction or dealing made in contravention of the foregoing provision shall be void.

7.The Chief Civil Affairs Officer may by notification published in the Gazette →

(1) fix the date after which statements of ownership or

interest may be lodged for any part of the Colony;or (2) extend, either generally or in a particular case, the

time within which statements may be lodged for (3) exempt from the provisions of this Proclamation eny

particular premises or classes of premises or the premises within any particular area or belonging to any particular class of persons; or

vary all or any of the particulars required to be given in any statement;or

(5) extend extend the period within which no contract,

transaction or dealing may be entered into or made in respect of leasehold premises in general or any class such premises;or (6) make rules for carrying this Proclamation into effect.

8.All notices or other documents required under this Proclamation may be served by delivering the same to the person to be served therewith or by leaving the seme with some person for him at or by sending the' some by post to his last known or most usual place of abode or business or, in case such address is unknown, then by leaving the same or a copy thereof on any tenement or premises to which such notice or document may relate.

9. Every person who

(1) in giving any information for the purposes of this

Proclamation makes or lodges any representation or statement which is false in any material particular or from which there is any material omission;or (2) destroys or parts with, or mutilates, alters or tampers

with any document whatsoever material to the purposes

of this Proclamation,or produces any document so mutilated, altered or tampered with;or
