There were also a total of 39 packets inward and 14 packets
outward. In additon there were 30 bags and 119 packets of
free air mail from ex-internees etc. despatched to various
destinations.
PRESS RELATIONS.
a. Press. The daily press conference continues and both Chinese
and European press have supported this section hand somely.
b. Fosters. 20,000 very effective Liberation rosters have been
distributed throughout the Colony, also 10,000 General ...arning
Posters and 500 Save Electricity" stickers.
c. Films. regular supply of British films is not assured and
five full length features have arrived plus a quantity of shorts,
newsreels una documentaries although the freight holdup has
proved awkward.
d. Display. Four Display shop windows throughout the Town,
containing all available material in the way of photographs, etc.
have been opened. It is intended to extend these displays.
e. Radio.
Talks in Chinese are being given three times weekly
over the fixed ...System, -une highly successful feature
broadcast being a "uestion & Answer" programme between a
member of the new Fisheries Staff and a local fisherman on
the new fish marketing methods. A similar broadcast on the
Rice question is in course of preparation. These broadcasts are
to be extended.
f. Lobile .. Those Mobile Units are being overhauled and it is
hoped that transport will be available for some of them by mid
November.
