The Japanese technicians and ships crews have done most if not all repair work to Naval vessels up to date.

The Chinese have been employed almost entirely in repairing the sabotage carried out by the British Navy.

The Dry Dock has been working for samtime. H.M. S. MOTH had been sunk to prevent the dock being used but this appears to have been raised without great difficulty.

The Naval pumping station has been repaired. ·

The pre-war rumbers of cranes in the dockyard appear to be as follows:-

Three Naval launches have been raised and put into use.

Star Ferry sunk at entrance to basin has not yet been raised despite several attempts; further efforts being made.

Three oil lighters each of about 100 tons started by British have been completed and launched.

Three or four naval vessels appear to have used the dry dock for repairs, during March and April. They were :-

1 Cruiser.

2 Destroyers

200 feet long, 2 funnels.

1 Escort vessel or 3rd class oruiser.

One was hit forward, one damaged in engine room by shell fire. External hole 8 feet by 2 feet on Waterline, and third minor repairs to screw. The opportunity was taken to clean the ships' bottom and generally overhaul them whilst the "battle scars" were being repaired. There was a ceremonial funeral for 4 members of the crew of ship damaged amid-ships. The ship filled 3/4 of the dock and was in for three weeks, the morale of the crew appeared poor. Special watch kept on them and it is rumoured that 3 or 4 deserted. The police at the gate made all workers remove their hats and the explanation given was that they were looking for Japanese sailors whose heads are shaven.

ABERDEEN. Dockyard has been stripped. All scrap iron has been exported but steel supplies are stered in the Naval Dockyard.
