1. Duties of Office and

qualifications required for their performance.

To teach Music in any school or schools as the Director of Education may decide, to organise the teaching of Music in schools in the Colony, and to train teachers to teach Singing.

A trained teacher, preferably with experience, and possessing the qualifications approved for teachers of Music in Secondary Schools under the London County Council, or their equivalent.

£460 per annum rising by annual increments after the second year of service of one of £60, one of £50, four of £25, one of £30, one of £100 and five of £30, with an efficiency bar after the ninth year of service. A residential allowance of £50 per annum being granted as from the fourth year of service.

3. Quarters, etc.

If Government quarters are provided, the officer will be charged an economic rent as determined by Government not exceeding 15% of his salary. If no quarters are available, and if the officer rents a separate tenement he will receive an allowance equivalent to the amount by which the rent of a tenement deemed suitable to his status exceeds 15% of his salary.

4. Nature, number and amount of securities required, and mode of giving them.

Nil.

5. Passage.

6. Period of engagement.

First Class Passage will be provided in accordance with Colonial Regulation No.81.

Three years, all of which will be probationary.
