Further to my minute dated 3rd December, 1937,
on the subject of damage to Open agon No.74 by bombs on 1st December, 1937, I have pleasure in enclosing three photographs (in quadruplicate) which show the extent or
the damage.
The damaged wagon was returned to the Locomotive Workshop, Hung Hom, on a 30-ton flat bogie wagon on the 8th
It is instant, as it was unable to travel by itself. completely ruined with the exception of one complete bogie and one pair of wheels and axle. The underframe and brake rigging are beyond repair. It will be necessary to build locally a new underframe and brake rigging, to order the new bogie from England and the brake cylinder from Store. estimated cost of repairs is $3,700. The loss of user is estimated at $3,000 which is based on 10 months at $300 per
month.
