BRIEF STATEMENT OF DAMAGE DONE TO ROLLING STOCK THROUGH AERIAL ATTACK BY ENEMY PLANES BETWEEN
1st DECEMBER AND 11th DECEMBER,
1937.
1st DECEMBER.
Between 8.40 and 9.10 hours No. 3 Down Local Train (Shek-
lung-Shum Chun) was bombed on the Main Line at Tong Tou Ha
station, Chinese Section Third Class Passenger Coach No. 82,
Medium Sided Wagon A 4 and British Section Medium Sided Wagon
No. 74 were damaged.
8th DECEMBER
Between 13.40 and 14.05 hours No. 8 Through Slow Train was
bombed at Tin Tong Wai station. Chinese Section Medium Sided
Wagon A 5 7 was derailed through explosion of the bombs.
9th DECEMBER.
At about 8.50 hours No. 3 Down Local Train (Sheklung- Shum Chung) was bombed at Tu Tong station, and the window glasses of the coaches of this train were all broken through explosion
of the bombs.
Between 13.30 and 14.00 hours No. 8 Through Slow Train
was bombed at Ting Tong Wai station. The engine of this train
was damaged by splinters and Chinese Section Medium Sided Wagon
No. A 24 was derailed through explosion of the bombs.
Between 16.30 and 17.15 hours No. 1 Mixed Goods Through
Train was bombed at Sheung Ping station.
The engine and rolling
stock of this train were damaged. The engine of No. 5 Down
Express Train was machine gunned at Wang Lik station and damaged.
It will require a new boiler.
11th DECEMBER.
Between 14.30 and 14.55 hours No. 9 Through Slow Train was
bombed at Nam Kong station. Third Class Passenger Coach No. 79 and Third Class Passenger Baggage and Mail Van were damaged.
