My dear Cowell,
Mr. A. Morse's name, as the zealous
Treasurer of the Hong Kong University, will be familiar
to you:
his work on Smith Committee in 1937 was
invaluable and his devotion of his spare time to the
University's affairs is of the greatest service to
us
This is to introduce him: he is, as you
know, Chief Accountant of the Hong Kong & Shanghai
Banking Corporation.
I feel sure that you will spare
him an hour, for he has a good deal to tell you
of the University's circumstances which is of the
greatest importance to us. You may take what he
says as being so.
If he brings with him Mr. J. R. Masson,
Director of Butterfield & Swire, he will be accompanied
by another Hong Kong resident who has the University's
H. R. Cowell, Esq., C.B., C.M.G.
