With reference to my secret
despatch of the 14th September, 1936, and
previous correspondence relating to the
extension of the ferodrome at Kai Tak,
I have, etc., to inform you that approval
has now been sea for a contribution from
Air
Votes towards the cost of the exten-
sion up to one-half of the actual cost,
subject to a maximum contribution of te-

given by the Colonial Government:

that the lay-out and the develop- ment of the aerodrome after the extension shall be approved by the Air Council;
that the extended aerodrome shall be available without rent or other charges (other than those for necessary maintenance) for the accommodation of any air units which may be stationed in Hong Kong from time to time;
that no part of the extended aerodrome shall be disposed of except with the consent of the Air Council;
that the terms of disposal in the event of the Royal Air Force evacuating any land and/or buildings of which the cost has been met wholly or partly from Air Votes,
