Colony was not content to take its stand

on the simple question of obligation, but

extended a practical and generous

co-operation to the limit of its ability

in the new circumstances which are created

by the problem of Air defence both locally

and throughout the Empire.

77. I shall be grateful if you will,

in consultation with your advisers,

carefully consider the questions now

raised and will communicate to me with the

least possible delay the information for

which I have asked and your recommendations

as to a basis of settlement which can be

recommended as acceptable to all concerned.
