Copy of a note verbale from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed to H.M. Legation dated December 15,1937.
With reference to their note of December 11th last
concerning exportation of machine-guns to the Chinese Government
the Ministry for Foreign Affairs have the honour to inform
His Britannic Majesty's Legation that the arms in question are
to be delivered by a/S Dansk Industri byndikat, Compagnie Madsen
of Copenhagen.
As already stated over the telephone, this Ministry are
not in possession of any licence issued. The export permit
necessary under Danish law was granted by the Ministry of Justice
on December 2nd, 1937, in favour of the said firm.
The arms will be shipped by A.P.Botved & Co. of
Copenhagen to John Manners & Co., Ltd.,Hongkong.
