Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs said today that he
would be particularly grateful for early reply to unofficial.
Japanese suggestion that some means should be found for
deflecting arms traffic through Hongkong from Canton-Kowloon
railway in order to avoid the necessity of that line being
sut.
May I expect early answer?

this flow of arms to China to continue much longer in so
far as it can be checked by operations on Chinese territory.
