3.
Plot C appears to be Crown Land.
Plot D appears to be Crown Land.
Plot E, vested in Secretary of State for War.
Plot F is Crown Land.
Block G is vested in Secretary of State for War.
Only three of the seven leasehold blocks are vested in the
War Department.
Block G is the only one in respect of which Crown Rent has
been capitalized.
6.
All this is very unsatisfactory.
Will you compare
57
the foregoing statements with your records to ascertain whether
your records agree with mine.
7. I suggest that the War Department should surrender
their tiles in Plots B, E and G, and all their estate and
interest whatever it may be in Plots A, C, D and F to the
Colonial Government.
8. The way will then be clear for the Colonial Government
to transfer the freehold in the 59.03 acres shown on the
accompanying plan for so long as it is required for Military
purposes. When no longer so required it will revert in the
usual way on the terms set out in the Colonial Office Circulars
on the subject.
9. If you agree to this procedure, will you take steps
for obtaining approval of the War Office, if such approval is
necessary.
I have, &c.,
(ed.) Philip Jacks,
Land Officer.
