I have the honour to forward for
signification of His Majesty's pleasure Ordinance No.42
of 1936, intituled "An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding twenty-five million five hundred and eight
thousand two hundred and sixty nine Dollars to the
Public Service for the year 1937", together with the
Attorney General's report thereon.

Copies of the draft Estimates of Revenue
and Expenditure for 1937, of the Colonial Secretary's
introductory address and of other papers in connection
with the draft Estimates were forwarded with my despatch
No.543 of 18th September, 1936. Copies of the report
(uncorrected) in the South China Morning Post of the
proceedings at the subsequent meeting on 7th October, at
which the Bill was passed, are enclosed with this despatch.

Detailed explanations of variations are
contained in the Colonial Secretary's Memorandum and in
his introductory speech and a review of the financial
position will be found in the Treasurer's Memorandum
and it does not appear necessary to recapitulate in this
despatch the information there available.
