9 For the reasons set out above the Board suggest (1)
that the Chinese ambassader in London should be informed
that His Majesty's Goverment propose, at an early date, to
adopt whichever of the alternatives suggested in the letter
from this Department of 18th June, 1954, the Chinese Central
Government would prefer in regard to the issue of lioendes
for the export of arma to Chinaj (2) that the United States
Government should be informed that, as other governmen ta
are not giving effect to the procedure which His Majesty's
Goverment have adopted in connection with the export of
arms to China, His Majesty's Government are considering a
revisim of that procedure and have suggested alternative
methods of supervision (which might be stated) to the
Chinese Central Government; (3) that the United States
Government should be informed that His Majesty's Government
are not prepared to axtend their present restrictions on the
export of aircraft and other potential munitions of var
except as a result of international agreemeia te
