may be further investigated.

3.

In spite of the statement, contained in

Messrs. Strauss & Company's letter, that for some time

past these assays have proved inaccurate, only one other

complaint, dated 29th January, 1935, has reached this

Goverment since 1927. During 1934 alone 189 samples

of tin were analysed in the Government Laboratory.

4.

The sample regarding which complaint is

now made was analysed on 2nd January, 1934, and since

tin samples are retained only for twelve months it is

not possible at this date to make a confirmatory analysis.

It would assist investigation if any future complaints

could be brought to the notice of this Government with

the least possible delay.

RHA.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient, humble servant,

んブ

Governor, &c.
