C. O. REGY

The Chief Passport Officer presents his compliments to the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies and with reference to the Colonial Office letter, 53531/1/35 of the 18th instant, regarding the desire of a Miss K. R. Johnson to travel to Hong Kong, begs to enclose herein a copy of a letter addressed to Miss Johnson on the 19th instant and of two letters which have subsequently been received from her.

After receipt of Miss Johnson's letter of March 24th, Mr. Martin had it in mind to return her passport after the addition of a special endorsement to the effect that it was not valid for Hong Kong, since the passport which she had originally submitted was already valid for travel within the British Empire. It will be seen, however, from Miss Johnson's letter of March 26th that she has not abandoned her intention of travelling to Hong Kong, and Mr. Martin would therefore be glad to have the observations of the Colonial Office as to what reply should be returned to her.

30th March, 1935.
