With reference to your despatch No.40
of 27th January, 1933, approving the grant to the
Trustees of the Church of England of the area of land
shown coloured red on the plan forwarded with my
despatch No. 565 of 20th December, 1932, I have the honour to inform you that the Trustees have
represented that the site granted is inadequate to meet their requirements and that the cost of levelling
would be prohibitive.

In the circumstances I request your
approval for the grant to the Trustees in place of
the area approved of another site in the same neighbourhood shown coloured red on the attached plan.
A copy of the terms and conditions which have been
accepted by the Trustees is also attached.

The new area exceeds the one formerly
approved by about 19,000 square feet. The Trustees
are, however, prepared to accept this area in
liquidation of this Government's promise to grant a
site in place of St. Peter's Church on Hong Kong
