With reference to your letter No.13702/33 of the

17th February regarding the re-exportation after repairs of

an atlas Mark II aeroplane from this country to Hong Kong,

I am directed by the Board of Trade to state that they concur

in the views expressed in the letter addressed to your

Department by the Foreign Office on 4th March. Now that the

embargo has been lifted no question arises as to the date

of the contract, but an export licence will still be necessary

for the gun mountings and other armaments fitted to the

aeroplane.

An application for an export licence will no

doubt be submitted in due course by Messrs. Sir .G.Armstrong-

Whitworth (Aircraft) Limited.
