With reference to your lotter of the 13th Noverber (F 6887/160/10) transmitting a copy of a despatch from

His Lajesty's Linister at Peking, on the subject of the

alleged exportation of ars from the United Kingdom to

China via British Domini ns and Colonies, I am directed by

the Board of Trado to state that while they concur generally

in the terms of the proposed reply they would suggest, for

the consideration of secretary Sir John Simon, that the

words "in fact" in the ninth line of the second paragraph might be replaced by "normally" and that reference might be

made at the end of that raragraph to the now arrangements

under which licences may be issued in future for the export

of aircraft armament from this court y to Hong Kong "on

consignment" (Foreign office reference F.636/160/10).
