duties and powers as shall from time to time he
assigned to or vested in him by the Engineers and
express
in default of or pending any such/assignment as
aforesaid shall perform and exercise all the duties
and powers ordinarily devolving upon an Engineer
in charge of such works.
The Resident Engineer shall devote his whole
time and attention to his duties herein referred to
and shall not engage or be employed in any other
business or occupation and shall use his best
endeavours at all times to secure the satisfactory
carrying out of the works and shall not in any way
give any information opinion advice or do any work
for any other person or persons Corporation or
Corporations without the written consent of the
Engineers.
The Resident Engineer shall furnish to the
Engineers once a month or at shorter intervals if
required to do so by the Engineers a full and
complete report on the progress of the said works
together with so far as practicable a full state-
ment of the cost thereon and he shall keep up to
date true record plans showing clearly and to
scale all amendments alterations additions to and
deductions from the work shown upon the Contract
Drawings such that on completion of the various
works from time to time there shall be a true
record by drawings and memoranda representing the
work as actually carried out Ha shall also report
monthly direct to the Government on the progress of
the work.
