Following received from Mission No. 337, September
15th, begins:
Foreign Office telegram No. 195.
Wang made communication to me in the same sense
this morning and emphasized the fact that offer of Chinese
Government to allow Hongkong authorities to submit names
of likely Chinese residents to Nanking for approval was in
the nature of a big concession. He said that Foreign
Office had suggested to Chinese Legation that if we
communicated with Hongkong matter might be settled with
less delay.
