No. 41.
Sir,
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG, 29th January, 1932.
I have the honour to inform you that the
Standard Weights and measures stored in the Treasury
vault in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No.2 of 1885 have been found to have been affected by
the atmosphere to an extent wnica renders it doubtful
whether they can still be regarded as accurate.
2.
I propose therefore to send them to
England for reverification, but before doing so I should be glad if an approximate estimate of the cost could be obtained in order that special provision may be made for this in the Estimates for 1933.
3.
A list of the Weights and Measures in
question taken from the Schedule to Ordinance No.2 of
1885 is enclosed.
