with reference to your letter No.F.6156/29/10
of the 2nd of November, I am directed by Secretary Sir
Philip Cunliffe-Lister to transmit to you, to be laid
before the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, a
copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong
regarding proposed amendments to Article XVI (c) and (d)
of the draft Hong Kong-China Customs Agreement. The
despatch enclosed copies of correspondence already
received in the Foreign Office from His Majesty's Minister
at Peking, and communicated to this Department in the
letter under reference
2. If Sir John Simon agrees, the Secretary of
State proposes to inform the Governor that the propose d
amendments are accepted.
3. The Secretary of State also proposes to ask
Sir William Peel whether a similar amendment to Article
