was clear to me that she must have been leaning against the

bath room door with her left shoulder and stooping a little

when a bullet came through the door and took off the back of

her head. At close range one bullet could have done that.

I am satisfied that the body remained almost upright and

that shot. As a result of examination at the time I am

satisfied there had been to attempt to interfere sexually

with deceased. At the Kowloon Mortuary on the 22nd July I did

a post mortem in the presence of Inspector Brennan who identified

the body as that of Mrs. Hadgwick. on the same occasion he

also identified the bodies of F.C. B.543 Dalip Singh and Chagg®

Singh B.9.

The second dead body I saw that night was that of P.C.B.543.

This body was lying on its back on the front 1st floor verandah. It was warmer than Mrs. Madgwick's, but I judged it from its

condition to have been dead less than 5 hours. I found

bullet wound that carried away the right orbital cavity and surrounding bone. The posterior wall of the skull behind had been carried away together with the greater part of the brain.

No other wound was discovered at the post mortem next day.

This wound must have been caused by a bullet fired at very

short range and could have been self inflicted. Death was

the instantaneous result of the wound. I saw a rifle lying

beside B.543 on the verandah.
