GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONG KONG 25th March, 1930.

My Lord,

I have the honour, in accordance with

Colonial Regulation 358, to request Your Lordship's authority

to write off the sum of $306.40 which is the stock-book

nominal value of 1,532 Ambulance Badges which are missing

from the store of the Police Department. The badges were

out of date and were not for issue; such value as they

actually possessed was only their value as old metal.

The circumstances are fully explained in the

attached report of a departmental Board of Enquiry which

I caused to investigate the case.

2.

I have instructed the Inspector General of

Police to deal departmentally with the officer responsible

for the loss on a charge of carelessness.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

60.d. Southosh.

Officer Administering the Government.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

LORD PASSFIELD,
