4. In this connection however, certain doubts have arisen as to the correct for of appointment to
Membership of Legislative Council and I have the
honour to request instructions on the points raised.
The points are as follows:-
(B)
Should the instrument of rovisional and
tasporary appointment be followed by an instrument
of definitive appointment on the receipt of llis Kajesty's confirmation of the provisional appointment, and instructions for the definitive appointment of
the person rovisionally my pointed ↑
(b) Should the instrument of definitive
appointment in the case of an unofficial member
expressly state that the appointment is for four years,
observing the initial dates laid dom in clause III
of the Additional Instructions of the 10th January,
1922 ?
(c) Should the instrment of provisional
appointment in the case of a (nominated) official
neuber, whose appointment is ractically based on his
acting in a particular office, be expressed to be
conditional upon his continging to set in that office ↑
(a) Should the instrument of definitive
appointment in the case of a (noriarted) official
member whose appointment is practically used on his
tenure of a particular office, be expressed to ve for
so long as he shall continue to hold that office ↑
