and no additional end landings would be necessary.
Two cross harbour pipes 12" dia. would jointly
deliver 5 million gallons per day to the Public Gardens
Service Reservoir (A.0.D. 280) while pipes of 12" x 15"
diameters would jointly deliver 64 million gallons per
day to the same level. The respective deliveries to
the 180 A. C. D. level would be 64 and 7 million gallons
per day.
On the estimated increase in consumption under existing conditions of supply Cross Harbour pipes of 12" dia. and 15" dia. would give jointly a sufficient delivery capacity to meet all requirements for the next
ten vears.
As the gravity velocity in the proposed 12" dia.
pipe is high, I would not advise the introduction of
booster pumps to increase the delivery capacity. When the limit of the gravity capacity of the first and second pipe lines has been reached, however, booster pumps to increase the delivery capacity could, at no great expense, be installed on the Kowloon Railway Reclamation.
Detailed description and method of laving.
On approval and authority being given for the work to proceed a Contract would be let for the manufacture and laying of the concrete anchor blocks.
The blocks would be either of the smaller Type
A to be laid in pairs one on each side of the pipe or of the composite heavy Type B to be laid over the pipe.
