APPOINTMENTS, &c.
No. 347.-In view of the urgent necessity of increasing the water supply of the Colony owing to the present drought His Excellency the Governor has been pleased. to create an executive authority to assist the Government in arranging for and control- ling the importation of water from outside sources. His Excellency has accordingly appointed Mr. S. T. WILLIAMSON to be Controller of Imported Water Supplies. Mr. WILLIAMSON Working with the advice and assistance of a Consultative Committee consisting of Mr. R. SUTHERLAND, O.B.E., Mr. W. G. GOGGIN, and Mr. J. M. McHUTCHON, will have authority under the general control and supervision of the Government to take such steps as may be necessary to carry out the object in view including matters connected with Contracts, Insurance, Chartering of vessels, or other Financial commit- ments.
