NOTE.
The Contractors must allow in their prices and tender for all contigencies, and they must provide a sum for all requirements of the General Conditions of Specifica- tion, as set out in the following, and in addition, are to add any other contingencies, services, or work not otherwise provided for.
The following are not intended to be detailed measurements of each and every item of work or service, but are provided so that rates etc., are furnished for the purpose of making up payments to account and valuing additions to or deductions from the work :—
BILL No. 1.
GENERAL.
The whole of the works and materials to be of the best of their respective kinds subject to the approval of the Engineer and to his entire satisfaction in every way, and the whole left in good condition, watertight and completed in each and every detail ready to be coupled up with the connecting water mains on both shores at Kowloon and Victoria, Hong Kong, for the conveyance of domestic water supply from Kowloon area into Victoria, Hong Kong.
Provide all tools, tackling, floating, fixed and moveable plant, craft, and all transport overseas and to the site, for all materials, plant and labour.
Provide adequate and sufficient pumping appliances for keeping works clear of water, with all necessary labour and power.
Provide for setting out the work.
Provide for fixing and lighting and all special precautions required by the Harbour Authorities during the construction of the works within the area of the harbour.
Provide for fixing and lighting as above within the area of Victoria, Hong Kong, and Kowloon to the requirements of the Engineer.
Provide for Insurance of every kind both during the manufacture of the materials and transit to the site of works, and during the construction and maintenance to the termination of the Contract.
