I forget probably they were written. I will

Yes.

cause of delay did you take any action to prevent the
giving of credit in future?
I told the First Bailiff that credit must not
be given. This was not the first time it happened but
in about August.
Who was responsible for the A. & B. Co., Ltd. being first employed as auctioneers?
They were first employed in June or July 1925.
Mr. Melbourne was then Acting Registrar. I continued the practice when I returned from leave. I did not like it when I heard Hodge was concerned but the First
Bailiff said that the Comprado re signed all cheques
and that he was a wealthy man.
Was any enquiry made as to the Company's
financial stability?
No. There was the fact that they had already
advanced considerable sums for the s.s. "Ling Nam".
Were instructions sought or given by any person
in the Government as to the employment of the Co. or
the continuance of its employment?
No.
Was the question of the desirability of the continuance of their employment ever discussed?
