After ten years there would be no record here
as to how the matter stood?
NO.
I assumed that the Treasury kept a record.
Has the First Bailiff made and filed in court
inventories and appraisements as required by Ord. 1/1883? (It is pointed out that a file (1925) carries no such inventory and appraisement and Mr. Nisbet is requested to turn up all files in which inventories and appraisements have been made).

Have proceeds of distraint sales received al- ways been paid to Suitors Fund at Treasury or have same been paid to creditors direct?
So far a I am aware always to Suitors Fund. On what occasions prior to 21.8.26 were complaints received as to delay in paying out after
sales?
I believe about two months before. I I spoke to the First Bailiff and he produced the Record book and said they had to give credit to purchasers. When so produced the book was not filled in as to "net proceeds" in respect of the items to which I called attention. There were complaints on two or three occasions possibly two months before 21.8.26.
