position as regards the Chinese Telegraph Office in Hong Kong
makes it necessary for me to add that it is impossible for
me to countenance any continuation of this long drawn out
dispute, and that, failing a speedy and satisfactory solution
of the question of this appointment, I shall have no
alternative but to close the office at once and to entrust
its management provisionally to the Eastern Extension
Telegraph Company.
