40. Central British School, Kowloon Additional Class-rooms &c. $20,000.-This work is urgently required owing to lack of accommodation at the Central British School Kowloon. To be completed in 1928.
41. Lock-up Store, Taumati Slipway $15,000.-This store is required by the
Harbour Master owing to the present lack of store room. It is considered · essential and economical to have adequate storage accommodation. To be completed in 1928.
42. Raising of Time Ball Tower $1,700.-This work is necessitated by the masking of the Time Ball in certain areas of the Harbour by the Peninsula Hotel and other tall buildings.
43. Roads $50,000. To provide for areas in course of development. The

49. Waterloo Road Extension to Boundary (100) ft. wide) $35,000.-This is an extension of Waterloo Road to the Old Kowloon Boundary. The work is in progress and cannot economically be delayed. It is to be completed in 1928. 50. To Kica Wan Road and site formation $33,000.-To construct To Kwa Wan Road and form sites for exchanges of land by filling in low-lying areas near San Shan. This work also is in progress and cannot economically he delayed. To be completed in 1928.
51. Argyle Street Extension to Waterloo Road (60 feet wide) $15,000.—This vote provides for the extension of Argyle Street from a point east of the Railway to the junction with Waterloo Road. Work in progress and to be completed in 1928.
52. Mong Kok Tsui Nullah East $470. To provide for the payment of retention
money. To be completed in 1927.
53. Clearing and forming areas west of Kowloon City Road, Hok Un, Hau Pui Loong and Shek Shan $15,000. To provide for levelling areas for exchanges. The scheme now in progress is to be completed in 1928.
54. Filling in area south of Argyle Street and west of Railway $500. To pro- vide for retention money. Amended scheme to be completed in 1927.
55. Forming level areas in Tai Shek Ku Valley, opposite Cemetery $12,500.—
This work is to get rid of malarial breeding areas near the Kowloon Hos- pital. To be completed in 1928.
56. Chinese Cemeteries laying out new areas $16.000.--This sum is to provide
for necessary grave spaces.
Sub-head 57. Exhumation. Chinese Cemeteries $20,000. Necessary for removal of graves in closed Chinese Cemeteries in developing areas, and for creating further burial space in existing Chinese Cemeteries.

58. Distributing water mains $10,000. This work is necessary on account of
the expansion of the Kowloon District.
59. Filling in Tidal flat and cutting down Hill between Tai Kok Tsui and Fuk Tsun lleung $75,000.-This work comprises the filling in of the Tai Kok Tsui mud flats and provides a large area for development purposes. In view of the need for economy the scheme has been reduced, and the amended scheme is to be completed in 1928 at a total cost of $48,375.
60. General Repairs to Police Pier, Kowloon Point $10,000.-The Police Pier was damaged by the typhoon of 24th July, 1927, and the vote provides for necessary repairs. To be completed in 1928.
61. Compensation and Resumptions $50,000.-This sum is to meet compensation
and resumptions during 1928. A reduced programme only is provided for. 62. Open market at Kowloon City $1,000.-To provide for the payment of re-
tention money. To be completed in 1927.
63. Sham Shui Po Market Extension $25,000, -This extension is considered necessary on sanitary grounds to meet the needs of a growing district. To be completed in 1928 (except retention money).
64. Latrine and bathhouse Boundary Strect Sham Shui Po $30,000.—This work is required to meet the sanitary requirements of a developed area. To be completed in 1928 (except retention money),
65. Quarters for two seatons Sai Yu Shek Cemetery $4,500.—Quarters are re- quired for sextons at this Cemetery, north of Kowloon City. To be com- pleted in 1928.
