estimated to complete the reclamation Dollars 738,00

provides for depositing of 2,000,000 cubic yards of filling

material from land cutting, time required to complete is 34

years. The reclamation in question can be completed in 1

years at an estimated cost of Dollars 1,491,000 by utilising

material which may be dredged in the harbour.

(2) For many years various complaints have been rvasive

from shipping companies regarding the inadequate depth of

water in the harbour also ships have grounded occasionally.

Kowloon Point and the shallows off The shoals off the wharfage provided by the Kowloon Wharf and Godown Company cause difficulty to moderate draught

vessels and make it impossible for deep draught vessels te

take advantage of this berthing. The deepening of this

portion of the harbour to satisfactory depth would yield

1,000,000, subic yards of filling material.

(3) Belchers Ridge Penguin and Rambler heals cause

great inconvenience to sarigation. The removal of these

shoals to a depth of 36 feet below low water would yield

30,000 aubic yards of filling material.

(4) There is a daswad for very much larger area of deep

draught anchorage in the western portion of the harbour.

Survey indicates

the harbour. About 700 yards south of the south west of

Stonecutter island a passage 650 feet wide coulủ be dredged in south westerly direction to obtain benefit to the harbour
